However, minor changes were made to the North Soil Storage Area
(NSSA) and the Ventilation Shafr #3 site. The actual available space at the NSSA (rather than
what appeared to be available per topographic maps) could only accommodate two soil piles,
rather than four as previously proposed. Due to this, the access alignment through the NSSA
changed slightly. At Shaft #3, the actual disturbance was greatly reduced from the design
permitted in MR#219, minimizing the disturbed area and thus, reducing potential impacts.
MCC has downsized the Ivtine Dewatering and Treatment facility as discussed in the revised
permit pages (page 2.05-23 of the redlined permit pages). This downsizing includes eliminating
the sedimentation pond, and a Small Area Exemption demonstration has now been included.
The downsizing is not reflected on the revised maps enclosed with this revision, as the facilities
have no[ been completed. Upon completion, MCC will revise the drawing to reflect facilities
actually constructed to date.
A weather station has been placed on the main mine site, as described in the revised permit pages
(page 2.05-25 of the redlined permit pages). The station has been constructed on a 4 feet by 4
feet concrete pad that is 6-inches thick. This concrete pad should be added to our reclamation
cost estimate.
