Mine Life
Estimated durations of phases assume all material to be saleable rock excavated at the assumed
production rate and no corrections for waste factors were applied.
Phase I mining is anticipated to last approximately 5 years at the projected production rate of 1
million tons per year. During the development of Phase I, drainages 1 and 2 will be impacted.
Caution will be taken to limit the impact to these drainages through use of the stormwater pond
and culvert under the processing facility. Drainage study evaluations and mitigation are
provided in Exhibit G -Water Information.
Phase II is anticipated to be developed during a period of approximately 6 years at the projected
production rate of 2.8 million tons per year. An important consideration for this phase is the
reclamation of the upper benches at final configuration in order to reduce the visual impact.
Phase III is anticipated to be developed during a period of approximately 6 years at the projected
production rate of 2.8 million tons per year. An important consideration for this phase is the
ongoing reclamation of benches and highwalls at final configuration. Care and planning will be
done to Limit the impact to drainage 3 until absolutely necessary.
Phase IV is anticipated to be developed in approximately 13 years at the projected production
rate of 1.8 million tons per yeaz. Important considerations for this phase will be transporting
material out of the pit to the process area, collecting and pumping water in the pit bottom and
continued reclamation efforts.
Note that the maximum build-out configurations shown are contingent upon encountering
competent rock that will sustain the slopes as shown. Ongoing geotechnical evaluations using
the observational method will determine the final build-out, which may be significantly less
aggressive than shown on the figures. For all mining phases, mined slopes which are at the final
build-out configurations will be reclaimed concurrent with mining in later phases.
Front Range Aggregates, LLC- Parkdale Quarry
DMG 171 Permu Amendment
Page ]8
