We propose adding the following text to the Mining Plan. It addresses the slope
configuration in the existing lake, particulazly the northern 940 feet and the western 800
feet. 1 have addressed the vegetation plan under the Reclamation Plan below.
The slope along a 940 foot section of the existing lake is graded 5h to 1v or
less from the water level to five feet below the surface. This slope will be maintained
when mining is complete to help offset the removal of the island. The shallower
gradient will allow us to plant aquatic vegetation in this area to enhance wildlife use of
the lake. The slopes above water and those below five feet will be graded 3h to 1v.
From 10 feet below the lake surface to the bottom of the lake the slopes will be 2h to
1v or less. Along the west side of the lake there is an 800 foot section of slope that is
currently 2h to 1v or less from the top of the bank into the water. Our measurements
indicate this slope extends into the lake until the depth reaches approximately 5 feet.
Until this lake is dewatered again the exact rate below that will be unknown. We are
fairly sure this slope rate goes to the bottom of the lake. As mining progresses into
the West Parcel this slope will be removed by mining and the final slope created on
the west side of the expanded lake will be graded 3h to 1 v from five foot above to 10
