Walther <br />Exe<u Yve Dveclor <br />ehichael 8. tong <br />Division D~reclor <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph <br />4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, [hat on April 26, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Bowie Mine <br />No.l wasconsideredcompletefortheputposesoffiling. The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All review <br />and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Resulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The approval of this revision would incorporate revised air emissions permits (construction permits) into the Bowie No. I <br />permit for the train loadout and for the mine site itself The revised air emissions permits have increased the maximum <br />production limit at the train loadout from 1.7 million tons per year to 3.0 million tons per year. The air emissions permit <br />production limit at the mine site remains atone million tons per year. No new land will be disturbed. There will not be any <br />changes to the facilitiesor the hydrologic protectionsystem. There will be an increase in the water consumptiveuse at the train <br />loadout. <br />The undergroundcoal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles north of Paonia. Colorado. The permit area <br />is Further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections I, 2. 3, 10-I5, 22-25, Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 5-8, 17-19.29-32, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Courthouse, 5th & Palmer, <br />Della, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additional informationor to provide written comments, contact the Division <br />of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 131; Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to <br />comply with regulatorytime frames, we request [hat comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
