E-17 <br />• E .5 Reclamation Schedule <br />Following the cessation of mining activities, the removal of <br />surface facilities, will require approximately six months. <br />Revegetation of the: project area will be completed within about <br />seven months of mine shut-down; seeding will occur according to <br />the procedures described in Exhibit E.4.2 Monitoring activities <br />associated with ground water quality (monitoring wells) will <br />continue for 3 years after mine operations cease. Revegetation <br />success monitoring will continue until bond release. <br />The schedule outlining the tasks which will be accomplished, and <br />their sequencing is shown on Table E-4. Reclamation techniques <br />• to be used during final abandonment will be identical to those <br />discussed previously (Exhibit E.4.1). <br />E.6 Reclamation Monitorina <br />The State of Colorado and BLM requires reclaimed lands to be <br />revegetated in a manner that establishes a diverse, effective, <br />and long-lasting vegetation cover at least equal in extent of <br />cover to the natural vegetation of the surrounding areas. In <br />order to ensure that this requirement is fulfilled, monitoring <br />will be required to assess the success of revegetation efforts. <br />The monitoring pz•ogram will evaluate the success of any <br />reclamation and will provide recognition of any problem areas. <br />• Vegetation transects will be sampled each year at the peak of the <br />
