<br />- monitor stockpiling activities to verify location of stockpile, material type, and <br />dressing; <br />- observation of the excavations for moisture seeps, weak foundation soil, <br />elevation, and proper drainage; <br />- monitoring subgrade preparation and confirming that the surface of the <br />subgrade is free of soft, organic, and otherwise deleterious materials (debris, <br />branches, vegetation, mud, ice, or frozen materials) and that soil and rock <br />surfaces that contain joints or fractures are adequateVy worked or repaired in <br />accordance with the SPECIFICATIONS; <br />- monitor and document material placement, including soil type, clod and particle <br />size, loose lift thickness, moisture conditioning process, compaction equipment <br />and methods used to attain compaction, number of passes, uniformity of <br />compaction coverage, compacted lift thickness, bonding of lifts and in-place <br />moisture content and dry density is as required by the SPECIFICATIONS; <br />- a sure that testing equipment used and tests performed are conducted <br />according to SPECIFICATIONS and industry standards; <br />- document and report test results as required; <br />• <br />report any deficiencies that are not corrected to the satisfaction of the CQA <br />Monitor, including design or SPECIFICATION changes; and <br />- prepare a construction certification report describing the construction, any <br />deviations from SPECIFICATIONS or DRAWINGS and details, details of all field <br />and laboratory test data, tests results (both laboratory and field), and will <br />include professional certification that construction was completed in <br />accordance with the appropriate DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS, signed and <br />sealed by an engineer registered in the State of Colorado. <br />2.05 EARTHWORKS CONTRACTOR <br />The Earthworks Contractor, also referred to as 'CONTRACTOR", is responsible for proper <br />delivery and placement of earthwork (soils) components as outlined in the SPECIFICATIONS. <br />The Earthworks Contractor may be affiliated with OWNER. <br />PART 3.0 LINES OF COMMUNICATION <br />The typical lines of communication necessary during a project are illustrated below. The COA <br />Monitor shall be capable of direct communication with MANAGER at all times.
