TRAPPER MINING INC.
December 19, 2005
Ms. Janet Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Ms. Binns:
REC~!~E~ED
DEC~~~ ~ U 2q~5
~rlslwmifM4is~
Division at Mi:sera r ~I~l~RsliblY
Please accept this letter as Trapper's response to your adequacy comments of November 18,
2005. Please find enclosed duplicate copies of TR-96 revision application materials
associated with this adequacy review. Trapper's response to Division comments are
outlined as follows:
Comment 1 response: Enclosed please find updated regrade cross-sections for
Derringer/Enfield pit without ash fill. The resuhing configuration includes a post mining
drainage where the pit existed. This drainage blends well with the surrounding
topography and is similar in nature to other drainages nearby. A Map M12A, Sheet 1, is
also included (for information purposes only) that shows the regraded Derringer/Bnfield
Pit in plan view.
• Comment 2 response: Revised Ml2 maps were semrt to you in response to this commemrt
under cover of November 30, 2005.
Comment 3 response: During a meeting with Jim Mattem of Trapper on December 6,
2005 it was agreed that certain PR-5 pit regrade work in the bond calculation never came
to pass due to mine plan changes. This included the backfilling and grading of F strike
pit, extensions in G strike pit and extensions in Z pit (a.k.a. East F pit). The TR-96
numbers for these pits have not been modified for this response. Backfilling and grading
of East Ashmore pit was not a part of TR-96 and has been added as agreed to during the
meeting of December 6`s. Please find enclosed cross-sections showing regrade of East A
pit.
A revised bond calculation reflecting changes from comment 1 (Derringer/Enfield pit)
and the addition of East A pit is enclosed. These changes aze represented by a revised
text page 1-31, regrade section of the bond (pages 1-34 and 1-35 throughl-35l, 1-39a),
and a revised total page (1-32).
• Comment 4 response: Due to winter conditions, it is not possible to obtain the material
samples necessary to determine parameters necessary to calculate the static factor of
safety for Deal Gulch pond. Trapper respectfully requests that TR-96 be approved with
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824-4401
