EXHIBIT "A" <br />7.c }. (Cont.) <br />The pond sizing was accomplished utilizing existing flow data~and evaporation <br />rates based on this data an additional pond or ponds should not be required. <br />All ponds will be completely Tined with a synthetic impervious liner. <br />~d). An anticipated maximum life is ZO years. <br />e). The facility will be a year round operation, but will only require periodic access <br />for maintenance and inspection. <br />f). The facility is design on an in flow of 10 gal/min. <br />g). Construction is anticipated to start in August 1984 (earlier if possible) and <br />last approximately 3 months. . <br />h). Limits of construction are shown on the attached detailed plans. <br />lb. Water cannot be discharged under current NPDES permits. <br />a.) The anticipated costs are: <br />1: Initial construction of pipeline and pond $600,000.00 <br />2. Operation and maintenance $100,000/year <br />3. Future ponds if required Pond 6 - $200,000, Pond C - $200,00 <br />b.) No reasonable alternatives <br />c.) The public will benefit from the containment and disposal of some of the <br />waters. The construction will have a positive impact on the depressed <br />economy of the Grand Junction area. <br />17. The following are our comments on likely environmental effects: <br />a.) Air Quality - Fugitive dust will be controlled during construction. No other effeci_ <br />b.) Visual Impact - One of the factors used in chosing this site is the very limited <br />visual impact. <br />c.) Surface and Groundwater Quality - The very reason for the project is to protect <br />' surface and ground water quality. <br />d.) Control or structural change on any stream or body of water - No effect <br />e.} Existing noise level - Only during construction <br />f.) Surface of land - Disturbance will be limited to that shown on the plans. <br />
