• already been removed, cannot be started until the E-band
quarries to the east have been quarried out, filled with CKD
and covered. Then the haul road can be rebuilt on the E-band
CKD cover, the quarry power line moved, and sufficient space
opened up for overburden stripping. Even then, C-band mining
cannot begin immediately because the E-band operation must be
far enough ahead to make it economical to move a fairly large
section of road and power line so that the C-band stripping
operation can move for an economical period of time. The
Time Line shows the C1 operation starting in the year 2025.
At such a distance in the future, it is futile to speculate
just what the C-band quarry configuration will be like, so it
has not been included in the mining plan.
Since the C-band has been disturbed by the removal of the
weathered material, it is under bond, and will remain so,
until it is mined and reclaimed. Reclamation cost estimates
have been given for reclamation of the C-bands as they
currently exist with just the weathered material removed.
At the close of the quarrying operation, reclamation will be
completed on the area from the end of the CKD fill northw,~rd.
This area will include portions of the A-, C-, and E-band:.
•
18
