Truck traffic -possible effects of surrounding residences, businesses,
agricultural stock drives, agricultural traffic, and Uncompahgre River
Trail.
County Zoning
On Monday, January 31 1994, an agricultural rezoning hearing was held to
address such issues. Our community of Montrose expressed to our County
Commissioners and Planners a strong support for a new definition of
zoning in our county so that such incompatible uses will not continue to take
place. This proposal has been in the the working far months before the
hearing took place. On Wednesday, February 16 1994, this issue is to be voted
on, please contact County Commissioner Cindy Bowen at (303) 249-7755 to understand
what our community desires.
In final statement, we feel the proposed use of properties at 21830 Hwy. 550 S., is in
conflict with the surrounding theme of our community. Reclamation is not the issue
here, it is the time of mining and production that will have the most adverse effects on
the surrounding area.
Respectfully,
Citizens to Preserve Scenic 550 South
c%: United Companies
Colo.
