White~iver Nahcolite ~erals
February 26, 1997

J
Mr. Gregg R. Squire, 12eclamation Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology f EB 2 S 1991
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203 ~ ~ =~ ~~;
RE: WRNM Nahcolit.e Project
Permit No. M-8?~-194; Technical Revision Request Number 10
Dear Mr. Squire:
71Z-O(O
White River Nahcolite Minerals (WRN) hereby submits a Technical Revision to
Permit No. M-83-194. The purpose of this Technical Revision is to add a
recovery well for cavity #l3 and a core hole to the planned disturbance for 1997.
Specifically, the following approval items are requested:
1. Approval of the partial relocation of production well 3A-4H. Per TR-007
WRN obtained approval to have an injection well located south of the present
cavity #3 and mine the extension of cavity #3. As a result of consultation with
the BLM, and desire tee avoid a deep gulch, the location for production well 3A-
4H was moved to the northeast. The horizontal hole will be directionally drilled
north of the sodium lease boundary, for mining cavity #3. As a net result, 0.5
acres should be deleted from planned disturbed area. Attached is a 8 1/2" X
14" map which illustrates in green the area for deletion and the area permitted for
injection well 3A-3H, ;;how in blue. Also, on the well pad for 3A-4H will be two
aquifer monitoring wells, per BLM requirements. The monitoring wells will be
completed as B-Groove; and Dissolution Surface wells. Completion and data
collection of water level and quality will be similar to other WRN aquifer
monitoring wells, and provide data up-dip of operations.
2. Approval to add new disturbed area for recovery well 3A-SV, plus additional
area for injection well 3A-4H and access route. This area of 3.1 acres is shown
in orange on attached rnap. As a result of TR-007 an area of 0.1 acres was
permitted for an access. road through the area for well 3A-SV. Therefore the
additional acreage is 3.1 less prior approved 0.1 acres, or net addition to
White River IJahcolite Minerals. Limited Llablllty Company
P. O. Drawer 72, 32X1 Co.
