Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology
Page Two
April 4, 1996

A. Washing operations will require approximately 1,500 gallons
per minute. This water will be stored in a series of sediment
ponds and will be recycled. The proposed operation will not
directly discharge to the middle fork of the Platte River.
Since there is no direct discharge, a NPDES Permit is not
required for this operation.
Ground water will not be exposed for this operation.
This operation will be in compliance with applicable Colorado
Water Laws and Regulations regarding injury and existing water
rights.
Reclamation of areas impacted by the wash operation will be
minimal. Site grading at the time of reclamation will include
this area without adverse consideration.
B. Portable concrete and portable asphalt plant are consistent
and compatible with current operations. No permanent
structures are associated with these operations; minor
leveling pads may be required.
All necessary local and state permits will be obtained prior
to operation. These operations will adhere to permit
conditions and applicable laws.
These operations will be contained within the current area
designated for processing of materials, reclamation of these
areas will be incidental to existing reclamation.
Processing Area
Alpine Rock Co. will on occasion, process materials in areas where
the placer tailings, have already been removed. Processing
materials in tailing areas will prevent disturbance and will not
alter or increase reclamation. As a supplement to the current
mining plan, attached is a current photograph of the Fairplay site.
The "second proposed location for crusher and radial stacker" will
not be utilized for processing material.
Bond
The bond was addressed under separate cover dated March 29, 1995,
Alpine Rock Co. will eliminate 15 acres in the "second proposed
location for crusher and radial stacker" area from processing
disturbance.
