The mining operation will use
the following measures to protect the area from pollution due to
Stormwater runoff. Internal drainage from the mining area will be
contained by contouring the topography to maintain drainage within
the mining area. Small berms (1 foot) may be incorporated to
prevent excessive runoff into the river.
Oil and grease occur mostly from equipment stored on-site and fuel
storage. Alpine Rock Co. will properly store all above ground
fuels. No underground storage of fuels is planned. Oil and grease
will be controlled through maintenance of equipment and the use of
drip pans for oil leaks prior to repair.
A Colorado Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (CDPES) permit
for Stormwater will be obtained for the project prior to operation
at the site.
Material Processing
Alpine Rock Co. requests an extension of current operations to
include portable asphalt mixing, portable concrete batching and
portable aggregate washing. The materials produced from the
property are suitable for the manufacturing of concrete and
asphalt.
SAND • GRAVEL • CONCRETE COMMERCIAL PAVING
