33. Generally, SEDCAD+ calculations and pond design appeaz to meet the
requirements of the applicable Rules. However, pit pumpage is planned, yet no base
flow was used in the hydrology and sedimentology calculations. Given the rather
short hydrograph detention time (9 hours), the Division requires more information
on the volume and rate of pit pumpage and how this may affect the pond
performance.
34. the ditch inlets, as proposed to be located, would appear to require that the
SEDCAD+ modelling use a dead space input of 50% rather than the 30% used.
Again, since the detention time is relatively short, the operator should evaluate pond
performance with this increased dead space or relocate the ditch irilets to the pond.
35. Rule 2.10.3(1)(j) requires a map showing the affected area.
36. Page 2.05.3(3)-4 Paragraph 2 states the freeboard will vary from 0.0 to 5 feet for the
collection ditch. Minimum freeboard fora 25 year ditch is 0.5 feet, therfor the
permit needs to be changed.
37. The Two proposed stock pond designs need to include cross sections of the pond,
embankments and spillways. Please provide these on the drawings.
38. Section 3.02.2 -Please revise the bond estimate to refect a new worst case scenario
and include it into the permit and then replace the the existing bond with the new
one.
Should you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~~~.
Harry B.
