<br />Exhibit L -- Reclamation Casts <br />1. Discussions of major, moderate, and minor disturbance in <br />Exhibit D, item 11 above. Major 4.8 acres, moderate 5.4 <br />acres, and minor 8.46 acres. <br />2. Operations presently at maximum linear extent of highwall <br />at 1040 feet more or less. Through Phases II-V highwall <br />to be backfilled 900 feet or less. <br />3. In calculating reclamation costs it was noted that the <br />topsoil and overburden storage stockpiles were located in <br />areas convenient to the areas to be reclaimed minimizing <br />trip time. Both materials are free of rocks and should be <br />easily handled. it is anticipated that a scraper should <br />be able to make one trip in 5 minutes or 12 trips an hour. <br />Therefore, an 18 yard scraper would haul 216 yards per <br />hour @ $. 65 per cu.yd. _ $140.40 per hour. With topsoil <br />probably being easier to handle, the cost was reduced to <br />$.60 per cu. yd. or $129.60 per hour. This past week in <br />talking with a local contractor I was quoted a rate of <br />$115.00 for an 18 yard scraper. The contractor is a local <br />firm who has considerable experience in mine reclamation. <br />You will find revised reclamation calculations enclosed to <br />reflect the modified acreages. Please note that only one <br />acre is included in the minor disturbance category since <br />this is the approximate area reclaimed where vegetation <br />has not yet been established. <br />Exhibit P -- Owners of Record <br />1.
