Page 11-3, par 4. Recent surveys of the Colorado River fish species in Debeque
Canyon reveal the presence of green sunfish, largemouth bass, black bullhead, roundtail
chub, carp, flannelmouth sucker, bluehead sucker, western white sucker, speckled dace,
mottled sculpin, fathead minnow, red shiner, brown trout and rainbow trout (E. Jacobson,
i 984; R. Anderson, 199&).
2. Page 11-4, par 2. The projed map that was submitted by the applicant shows
"crucial' deer winter range to lie north of the project area, north of Jerry Creek. It should be
noted that the Division of Wfdlife has designated the areas within and adjacent to this project
area as "year round' range for mule deer, 'winter range' for mule deer, and 'severe winter
range' for mule deer. The Division of Wildlife has classified 'severe winter range' as a
'critical habitat' for mule deer.
3. Page 14-15, par 3. It is conceivable that plating rock onto slopes that are greater
than 4h:1v would be difficult, dangerous, and disruptive to drill seeding efforts. The
pla~ment of rock in groups or piles, where it is safe and feasible, will provide habitats for
lnse~ts, reptiles and small mammals. Striving for a5-10% rock cover density on the disturbed
area'isr~ecommended; although may not be feasible.
