Delta Send and Gravel Co.
PIT #1 Amendment
M.L.R.B. # M-77-020
November 14, 1997
maintain a 10 foot setback from the affected lands. In this
case, the digline setback is based on leaving 10 feet from the
top of the slope to the affected lands line plus what ever
distance is needed to complete a cut/fill sloping process. The
sketch below shows a typical cross-section of the slope and
setback prior to the cut/fill operation starting. This area may
not be mined depending on our need to use it as a raw material
stockpile. This will be determined once mining is complete on
the east parcel. The west are was stripped for use as a material
stockpile area for the industrial operation south of this site.
Mining will begin on the EAST PARCEL, once this amendment is
approved, by stripping the total mined area of topsoil as noted
above. Once the topsoil and overburden is removed excavation
will begin. initially scrapers will be used to strip the area
and then loaders or a track hoe will begin to mine along the
south side opening a face from east to west and work north. Once
the water table is encountered, pumps will be installed and de-
watering will begin. Mining will then begin below the water
table and the pit run material will be shipped to the INDUSTRIAL
AREA for processing into final product. Map Exhibit C-1 - Mining
Plan Map shows how this will look when approximately 50.1 of the
east area is mined. As mining progresses reclamation will
4
