M-88-037 <br />AMENDMENT NO. 001 <br />RESPONSE TO ADEQUACY CONCERNS <br />The adequacy concerns are responded to in the order that they were presented to United in the <br />letter regarding this matter from Larry Oehler, Environmental Protection Specialist, dated July 16, <br />1996. <br />General Requirements: <br />D k 1. Rule 6.2. /(2)(b) requires that all maps must be signed by the person that prepared them. <br />The sets of maps that were prepared by D-H Surveys, Inc., and submitted with the original <br />package for the amendment application, have now been signed by Michael Drissel. Two sets <br />of the signed maps are enclosed. <br />Exhibit C -Pre-Mining and Mining Plans Map of Affected Lands: <br />U ~l. Rule 6.4.3(b) requires that all immediately adjacent surface owners of record be shown orr the <br />Pre-Mining or Mining Plan Maps. <br />The owners of record of the lands west of County Road 44ZN, within 200 feet of the affected <br />lands were not shown on the original maps. Those owners are now shown on the revised Pre- <br />Mining Plan Map. <br />6K2. In accordance with Rule 6.4.3. (~, provide the location of the well and related water control <br />facilities. <br />The location of the proposed well and the related facilities are shown on the Mining Plan Map. <br />Exhibit D -Mining Plan: <br />d ~ 1. Show the specifications jor the water storage pond shover: in the Phase 1 miming area. <br />The dimensions of the pond that were shown on the map were approximate. It is anticipated <br />that the pond will be constructed so as to occupy an area 150 feet x 250 feet in size. The pond <br />is expected to be excavated to a depth of 6 feet below ground elevation, and will be filled to <br />a depth of 4 feet to 5 feet, leaving 1 foot to 2 feet of free board. The slopes of the pond will <br />
