• With regazd to Exhibit K -Climate Information, the customary sources for information failed <br />to yield much information. The information that was gathered was obtained from the Norwood <br />Town Hall, and the Norwood Chamber of Commerce. <br />• Mr. Johnson stated that the Reclamation Plan is inadequate. It is hoped that the information <br />provided in the preceding text has provided enough information to be satisfactory. It is the <br />desire of the land owner that the affected lands be seeded to grasses for the reclamation of the <br />site. <br />• The financial warcanty amount that is provided in Exhibit L as the cost of reclamation for <br />Phases 1 and 2 is an estimated amount based on the operator's best estimate. is the <br />responsibility of the Division of Minerals and Geology to supply the actual warcanty amount <br />• United Companies noticed the Town of Norwood in Exhibit P of the original application <br />package. This was done in recognition of towns or cities within 2 miles of the affected lands. <br />Appazently the Division did not notify the Town in the proper time frame, but has done so as <br />of this date. <br />• Storm water concerns will be handled with grading practices that will direct storm water from <br />the perimeter of the area that has a potential of discharging into the Nelson Ditch. This will be <br />done with an increased elevation on the outside, sloping gradually toward the interior for a <br />minimum of 50 feet. This will create a retention system. Accumulated water will be directed <br />to the water storage pond using diversion ditches. <br />The applicant will remain open for discussion on issues that are perceived to be impacting the <br />residents of the area. As was mentioned in the response to Mr. Walters, the operating hours <br />for the crusher plant were changed when it was made known that the starting time was <br />objectionable. The applicant does reserve the right to conduct business in the manner that it <br />deems best, without imposing undue or unreasonable hardship on its neighbors. <br />8. San Miguel County, Jim Craft (Chairperson) -Telluride, Colorado (August 13, 1996) <br />Mr. Craft has expressed a concern for adequate reclamation of the site, based on the size and <br />length of time that the site will operate. The point is well made that careful attention must be <br />paid to the reclamation effort. The applicant is confident that the Division of Minerals and <br />Geology will adequately monitor the progress of reclamation and will assure proper financial <br />warcanty is maintained. <br />The applicant has addressed the use of water out of the Nelson Ditch in previous text.
