One of the options
at that time was to convey the mined materials east across the South Platte River to
property CAMAS owns and this was meant to alleviate truck traffic on Riverdale Road.
Mr. Gerdom rejected that plan. Attached for your information are copies of my
con-espondence with Mr. Gerdom and his response. After receiving his reply, CAMAS
decided to go ahead with the acquisition of the Hammer property and the adjacent
parcels and to process the amendments which are currently in process.
I was advised by Jim Hayes of Adams County Planning that Jce Gerdom had left the
City of Brighton and was given the interim Planning Directors name. We hadn't heard of
any concerns from Brighton through the referral process so I called on August 23b to
make sure there were no problems lurking in the background. I was assured that there
were no problems, but was told that you were writing a letter with "some concerns" to the
DMG in response to their standard referral process. With that background, I just
received your letter via fax yesterday from the DMG.
I wanted you to know the efforts we have made since this project started and want you
to know that we have not been ignoring the City of Brighton's concerns.
With that background, let me address the issues you raised in your letter.
• Concerning the City Limits of Brighton, in our application we were responsible to list
any city or municipality 'wvithin" two miles of the project and this is what we did.
• We are aware of the subdivisions east of Section 14.
