• hauled to an open pit for disposal. The entire parking area will be ripped to a depth of three feet. Approximately one foot of topsoil from the topsoil stockpiles will then be hauled by scraper to the ripped parking area. Miscellaneous Utilities.. Underground utility reclamation, including phone lines, water lines, and powerlines, will be abandoned in place. Sediment Ponds. Three of the sediment ponds will be totally reclaimed (009, 015 and 0161, while two (006 and 005) will remain in place as permanent ponds. Location of all impoundments can be found on Exhibits 12-2 and 12-3. Embankment volumes were taken from existing, proposed, and typical designs as shown in Tab 13. The embankment material and sediment accumulated from the ponds would be dozed into the surrounding area fo reestablish the drainage. Aone-time cost for dredging sediment from the ponds has also been included. Road Reclamation. The three types of roads requiring reclamation within the mine site are haul roads that are to be totally reclaimed, light-use roads that are to be totally reclaimed, and roads that are presently haul roads but will be left for the postmine landowner and must be narrowed. There are approximately 3.6 miles of haul roads that will be totally reclaimed, 2.1 miles of light-use roads that will • be totally reclaimed, and 11.0 miles of haul roads and access roads that will be downsized for postmine landowner use. Light-Use Roads. There will be approximately 2.1 miles of light-use roads that will be reclaimetl. As a general rule, these roads are not surfaced. The subgrade will be ripped, and the cut/fills will be graded to cover the surface material. The culverts and embankments will be removed, topsoil respread, and the area revegetated. Haul Roads. There are approximately 3.6 miles of haul road that will need to be reclaimed. The surfacing material will be hauled into the pit and buried as part of the final pit grading Permanent Roads. There are approximately 11.0 miles of proposed permanent haul roads and access roads. These roads will be narrowed to 20 foot wide for postmining use (see Tab 13 for detailsl. These roads will take the place of jeep trails that existed in the area prior to mining and add transportation routes that were not available prior to mining.
