One issue is
the removal of concrete abutments located in the North Fork of the
Gunnison River. These abutments were apparently left in place
during the reclamation of the Bear No. 1 & No. 2 Mines. The
abutments either supported the river bridge or the conveyor which
crossed the river. Enclosed is a letter signed by Joe Vickers,
Colorado Department of Transportation, Maintenance Supervisor, that
confirms the Department of Transportation believes the concrete
abutments should be left in place.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
Enclosure
cc: W.
