LINER EXTENSION AND CONTINUITY <br />The ongmal design of the liner system for the tailings rmpoundmrnt expansion contemplared that <br />the trammed upstream edge of the existing HAPE FML would be secured is an anchor wench excavated in <br />an mtenm berm left between [hc original pond and the excavation area of the expanded pond The first phase <br />of the aew liner system (GCL and FML) would rhrn be secured in the same anchor trench, followed by the <br />second phase GCL component of she new liner system- Frnally, the upstream edge of the second phase of <br />the new FML would be deployed such that it would overlap the anchor trernch and thrs edge of the FML <br />would be welded to the previously installed firs[ phase FML to produce a continuous new liner system <br />throughout the impoundment.
