EXHIBIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN AMENDMENT
This area has a mining history that predates the 1976 Reclamation Act and much of the
disturbance of this azea occurred prior to the Act. The applicant plans on reclaiming the
disturbance created by this operation as well as the disturbance pre-dating the Reclamation Act.
The post-mining use of the site will be for residential development.
Reclamation of the site will be concurrent with mining activity. The distwbance azea currently
exceeds the maximum total of 29 acres. The applicant is in the process of reclaiming areas to
reduce the disturbance at or below 29 acres. The reclamation plans for each of the disturbed
areas are discussed below,
Open Pit (Area 1)
After the sand and gravel is processed it will be used to backfilled to within ten to fifreen feet of
the existing ground surface. Once the site is completely backfilled the pit area will be graded to
closely match the current topography, covered with a minimum of four inches of topsoil, then
revegetated and fertilized.
Eauinment Storage and Parking Areas (Area 2)
The equipment storage and parking areas will be ripped, graded, seeded, and fertilized.
Processing and Stockpile Areas and Access Roads Area 3)
Most of the buildings and equipment at the processing site will be removed once mining has
been completed. However, the owner of the land would like to have the option of preserving the
processing building following mining. Then processing azea will require some ripping and
grading prior to revegetating and fertilizing.
The access roads will be ripped, graded, seeded, and fertilized.
Tailings Impoundment and Catch Basins (Area 41
The tailings impoundment and emergency catch basin areas are relatively flat. The reclamation
plan for these areas will be creation of a grassy meadow. This will require some grading prior to
the placement of a seeding mixture and fertilizer. The slope of the impoundment will be graded
3H:1 V (Horizontal: Vertical}. The reclamation of the tailings facility area will begin before
1999.
E-1
,.
