FROM BENSON BROTRERS • 0].28.1994 1 B P. 3
You mentioned a desire to screen this hillside and enhance the visual
look of it - if possible and practicable. I suggest planting a row of
trees along the base of the hill. Space them 10 to 16 feat apart and
water as needed through the growing season. Honeylocust is probably
one of the best adapted and most drought resistant of the many trees
that could be used on this site. Siberian peashrub is one of the best
suited tall shrubs for a screen on the hill top. Plant them 3 to 6
Peet apart and water as needed.
Other shrubs and trees will grow on this Brea and could be used. My
opinion is the honeylocust and peashrub may be the beet choice. I
would be glad to provide you with information on other species.
Please contact me should you have any questions or need assistance
with your aroaion control, seeding and planting work.
incerely,
Paul obert
Wildlife Biologist
xe: Delta Soil Conservation District
•~~ENDtw•
