Luc hhead
E.ecwi, e Dnenrr
n,~rna,a s. wnF
Dnsmn Uimuor
The Division has conducted a preliminary adequacy review of the conversion applicatio and identified
the following concerns. Please respond to these concerns as soon as possible so th t the May 26,
1998 decision due date can be met.
1 . The range allowed for scale of application maps must be no larger than 1 inch = 50 feet and
no smaller than 1 inch = 660 feet. The scale of the application maps is 1 in h = 900 feet.
Please revise the existing conditions, mining plan and reclamation plan maps a cordingly, and
ensure that the scale bar and map scale are correct.
2. As per Rule 6.2.1, maps and exhibits must show the name of the applican ,and must be
signed by the qualified preparer. Also, to prevent future confusion, the map t tle should only
show the Del Norte Pit name and the corresponding permit no. Upon a proval of this
conversion, and subsequent release of the Del Norte Pit No. 2 permit, the c went map title
would be confusing and incorrect. Please revise the existing conditions, fining plan and
reclamation plan maps accordingly.
3. The application maps do not extend 200 feet beyond all permit boundaries. PI ase revise the
maps to include the area within 200 feet of the permit boundary and ensure th t all structures
are shown, including ditches, fences, roads. This includes structures on the posite side of
any roads or the canal. The structures and their owners name must be sho non the pre-
mining map.
4. Please indicate, on the mining plan map, if the southeast corner of the site will continue to be
used for astockpile/facilities area.
5. Please indicate where topsoil stockpiles are currently located and will be loca~ed after future
salvaging, and ensure that the stockpiles are sized accurately for the amount f material they
will hold.
6. The mining plan will need to include a proposed seed mix for temp
establishment on the stockpiled topsail. The stockpiles should have slopes no
and be well vegetated to prevent erosion and infestation by weeds.
vegetation
r than 3:1
