• <br />• <br />COMPLETION OF AMW-2 <br />Ground-Water Monitor Well AMW-2 Installation <br />1) The baring rae advance using 13.6-inch outside diameter <br />hollow-stem auger. <br />2) Six-inch diameter, flush-point, thread-coupled, <br />Schedule-4@ PYC pipe was placed to the total depth of <br />the boring inside the hollow stem auger. The bottom 12 <br />feet of pipe consisted of 0.02 inch factory-slotted PVC <br />screen and a 2 foot silt trap. <br />3> The annular apace around the pipe rae backfilled through <br />the hollor-stem auger from the bottom to approximately 3 <br />feet above the screened lnterval rith pea gravel. <br />4) A 3-foot bentonite seal rae placed above the send pack <br />to isolate the zone of interest from infiltration. <br />5> A cement grout rae placed from top of the bentonite seal <br />to the ground surface. <br />6) A steel protective cover rae installed over the well to <br />protect it from damage. <br />ABANDONMENT OF OLD AMW-2 <br />Cement grout rae pumped down the 4 1/2" casing annulus to the <br />surface. The casing was cut off three t3) feet belor the <br />surface, capped, and back filled. The Blurry mixture rae <br />pumped by dropping the pump hose dorn the annulus and raising <br />the hose as the apace filled to eliminate air pockets and <br />promote settling. <br />• -62- 4/93 <br />
