J. J. Dudash - 2 - April 20 2001
longer operative, it will be fully grouted with cement or other appropriate material. Drill
pads and roads will be restored to approximate original contour and seeded.
Right of Entry
The fifteen GVBs drill sites and associated light use roads are located on surface owned
by BRL and the BLM. Right of entry on the BLM managed land is authorized by Federal
Coal Lease COC-61209.
Affected and Disturbed Area
The light use road construction will disturb approximately 11.7 acres. The fifteen drill
sites will disturb approximately 3.6 acres for a total disturbance of 15.3 acres. Of this
amount, 2.8 acres were previously disturbed under approved exploration drilling permits.
Cultural Resources
Technical revision number 18 incorporated a Class III Cultural Resource Inventory and
Paleontological Assessment Report for 1640 Acres of BLM Administered Lands within
the Iron Point Coal Lease Tract (COC-61209). No further Cultural Resources Inventory
should be required.
Light Use Roads
Light use roads will be constructed to access drill pads for Gob Vent Boreholes. The
roads will be constructed in accordance with rule 4.03.3. The layout of the roads are
presented on Map 9 Hydrological Monitoring Location Map. New light use roads will be
reclaimed. Reclamation of the upgraded and refurbished light use roads may involve
narrowing the roads so they are compatible with the poslmining land use of rangeland
and wildlife habitat since roads are necessary to manage both land uses and a light use
road network was existing on the property prior to mining.
Soils
No detailed soil survey will be performed in the areas to be disturbed for the light use
roads or GVBs. To the extent possible, depending on the slope of the ground surface,
topsoil will be salvaged.
Vegetation
Map 3-1 Vegetation, Iron Point Tract, shows vegetation boundaries for the entire area to
be affected by this revision.
Reclamation Estimate
A reclamation estimate is enclosed. Amounts are provided to seal the 15 gob vent
