EXHIBIT G
t
WATER RESOURCES STATEMENT
There will be no major disturbances to the prevailing hydro-
' logic balance in this pit area. Surrounding properties are
equipped with drain ditches and drain tiles into the subsurface
aquifer. The operator knows of no water wells in the vicinity of
' this pit. There should be no problems for surrounding landowners
from the dewatering program to be carried out after the initial
' part of the mining operation is complete. Dewatering will start
after the first 18 to 24 months of operations. The dewatering
water will be pumped from the pit to a settling pond off the
' affected land and then returned to the river.
The lake formed by the mining operation will have a minimal
amount of water loss due to evaporation. According to the
Montrose Office, Division of Water Resources, this will be a
' very minor disturbance to the prevailing hydrologic balance in
' this particular area and no augmentation will be required. This
was discussed with both Mr. Hal Simpson and Mr. Steve Hanskar.
1

1
1

16
