Exhibit D - "tininQ Plan
An open pit gravel operation located a few miles west of Colorado
Springs is being proposed for reactivation. The area to be affected is in
Waldo Canyon, a tributary drainage of Fountain Creek, at an elevation of
about 6,900 feet. The area is the site of an old gravel pit dating from
[he 1960's, and perhaps earlier times. The material previously removed,
and the material to be mined per the current plan, is Pikes Peak Granite.
Much of the area to be affected under this plan can be categorized as
?N •vl `
either steep;`consisting~i-ock outcroppings, or has been previously
disturbed by former aggregate operations.
Phases
Based on current projections, it is anticipated that approximately
100,000 to 400,000 tons will be mined per year. The projected rate of
advancement and and respective volumes to be extracted are based on market
demand and subject to change accordingly. It is anticipated that the
operation will be worked over about a 20 year period. There will be two
phases of the operation as outlined below. The total permitted area is '
about 28.1 acres but the area to be disturbed is estimated to be about 2d
to 24 acres, or 80., The Exhibit C map included herein illustrates the
permit boundary, phases and other features per Rule 2.12.
Phase I - 11.4±acres. Portion of area previously disturbed.
Mining is expected to be completed in this phase
in about 8 to 10 years. Benches to be developed in
conjunction with the operation. Final reclamation
to occur upon completion of operations in this
phase.
