Forbs
Fringed Sage (Artemesia frigida) )
Yarrow (Achillea sp.) )
Yucca (Yucca glauca) )
Wild Rose (Rosa woodsii) ) T-2
Pussytoes (Antennaria sp.) )
Wild Mustard (Brassica spp.) )
Wax Flower (Jamesia sp.) )
Green Gentian (Frazier speciosa) )
III. Area Previously Mined
In the area previously mined the ground cover ranges from 0 to about
40 percent basal density. Wheatgrasses (Agropyron trachycaulum or A.
smithii, A. trichophorum(?)), brome (Bromus sp.), traces of other grasses,
yellow sweetclover, a few individual ponderosa (2 to 6 feet in height),
willow and cottonwood are present. The density and occurrence of the grass
species suggests that they have been previously planted. It is uncertain
whether the pine were planted or naturally invaded the disturbed areas.
Ponderosa are observed to thrive in other other disturbed areas where grus
is exposed.
