A <br />representative profile of the Kutler very gravelly sandy loam is included <br />herein. <br />Broadmoor Series <br />(Br) The Broadmoor series are loamy-skeletal, mixed, frigid Udic <br />Ustochreps and consist of moderately deep, somewhat excessively drained <br />soils that formed in residuum derived from granite. These soils occur on <br />moderately steep and extremely steep mountain slopes in the Ute Pass area <br />at elevations of about 7,000 to 9,000 feet. The soils are generally on <br />wooded slopes and have of about 15 to 70 percent. Also included with the <br />map unit are geographically associated soils and soils of similar competing <br />series. However, these other soil types have not been differentiated at <br />the map scale used. <br />Typically the surface layer is a dark brown very gravelly sandy loam <br />about 15 inches thick. The subsoil is a reddish gray extremely gravelly <br />sandy loam about 8 inches thick overlying weathered granite. Permeability <br />of these soils is rapid. Runoff is rapid and the potential ester eroaion~ <br />is eodsrate to high. The. available water capacity is lpy. <br />
