Mr. Bill Agnew - 2 - May 20, 1991
For this reason, we can allow the above-listed wells to be monitored for water
quality on a semi-annual basis. The following sites, however, must be
monitored in accordance with the existing permit plan:
GE3, GF6, GFII, J1, P1, P3, and P8.
This change is granted with the understanding that if future impacts become
significant, monitoring on a quarterly basis may be required again.
Please note that well GO-3 must be monitored quarterly for water quality if
ash disposal occurs in the area. Please revise pages 4-247a, 4-247b, 4-247c,
and 4-247d to refl ect the decision described above.
Section 3.0 - Drainageway Reconstruction, Improvements and Repairs (1990)
1. This section was reviewed in detail, and found to be in compliance.
Section 4.0 - Regraded Spoil Sampling
The results and findings in this section are acceptable. Please continue
to closely monitor the isolated area from which the low pH value was
obtained.
Section 5.0 - Topsoil Stockpile Locations (1990)
1. The information in this section is adequate. We may conduct a field
inspection to ensure that all topsoil piles are Droperly refl ected on
Maps 5-1 and 5-2.
Section 6.0 - Livestock Ponds (1990)
1. The information contained in this section is adequate. Have the
modifications referenced in the September 26, 1990 letter from the
Soil Conservation Service, Item No. 5, been completed? If not, Dl ea se
provide a work schedule.
Section 7.1 -Vegetation Monitoring for Seeding Exclusion in 1989
Derringer Pit Topsoil Area
1. As required, Trapper submitted vegetation monitoring data on the 56 acre
no seed plot. As they stated, the expected initial vegetation response
was mostly annual/biannual plant species, and the data supported this
assumption. Unfortunately, the woody plant species did not establish in
the densities hoped for. Also grass species are present in very low
num5er which may help woody plants become established. The data
indicates what would be expected at this point, and at least two to three
years of data will need to be evaluated before a good preliminary
assessment can be made.
