There is no culvert referenced on either the map or in
the text to allow passage of Ditch F-1 under the haul
road extension north of Pit 1. Please provide new
calculations accounting for this haul road culvert and
update the maps to show both the cuivert and the haul
road extension.
ii. The Division cannot reproduce the acreage estimates for
JBS 113/SWS 1 (Culvert 98> and J85 114/SWS 1 (Ditch F1
outlet). Possibly the differences are attributable to
the county road intersecting the area. It seems that
the road ditch would intercept floc, *rom the uphill
side of the county road and flow into the last segment
of Ditch F-l. For JBS 113/SWS 1 the Division estimates
4.44 acres rather than 18.50. for JBS 114/SWS 1 the
acreage is closer to 18 acres rather than 6.2. Please
explain your subwatershed boundaries and rerun all
necessary calculations.
c. The drainage area for haul road diversion Ditch 3 is
represented as 7.37 acres. We find that the acreage is
closer to 20 acres. Please provide information or
corrections as appropriate to resolve this discrepancy.
d. On page 23-151R it states "Riprap will be utilized in ditch
sections where velocities exceed 5.0 feet per second." This
is a proper design commitment. However, on Map 23-1
vegetated channels are shown for Ditcnes PD1 steep, PD2
steep, PD3 steep and G-2 where velocities exceed 5 fps.
Please correct this map.
e. Page 23-151R indicates that the listed ditches are shown in
plain view on map 16a; however, none of the permanent
diversion ditches are shown on that map. Please correct the
text or the map as appropriate.
f. The paragraph, (after the ditch list), on page 23-151R which
begins "The majority of the ditches..." is incorrect in
reference to the storm events related to clean water and
permanent diversions. Please correct this information so it
corresponds to the Pond & Ditch Design .Map 23-1.
6. Response Accepted.
7. Response Accepted.
8. Response Accepted.
9. Based on field inspection of the loadout site and review of
permit maps, it has been noted that a 48 inch con crete Culvert
exists in the drainage ditch at the loadout site. Please provide
design calculations for this culvert, along with revised permit
pages for inclusion into the section dealing with the loadout
area hydrology.
