Trapper Mine 1992 Am• Report (TR-63) •
Response to Adequacy Review Comments
Page 6 -June, 1993
•
Trapper Response:
Section 5.0
(~~1.~ As we discussed during the May CDMG partial inspection, this topsoil stockpile location will
vU not be used. Other existing and proposed stockpiles will be used to accommodate the topsoil
proposed to be placed in this pile.
CDMG Cotttment:
Section 6.0 -Livestock Tanks
The Division is currently discussing the number of livestock tanks constructed and pro-
posed with regard to the issue of evaporative loss and water rights. If concerns arise we
will notify Trapper tinder separate cover. A statement is made in this section indicating
that the SCS or Trapper personnel will inspect livestock ponds for construction adequacy.
Please be aware that your approved range management plan requires the SCS to inspect
each pond for construction adequacy (p. 3-155).
Trapper Response:
• Section 6.0.
Comments acknowledged.
CDMG Comment:
Section 7.0 -Miscellaneous
1989 Derringer Pit Topsoil Area - No Seed.
After the third growing season, it is apparent from review of the data that perennial
grasses and fortis as well as shrubs have been slow to establish on this test area. The
1993 growing season is the fourth for this area and the Division respectfully reminds
Trapper that a commitment was made to evaluate this azea immediately after the fifth
growing season (Fall, 1994). These discussions should begin immediately after
sample data is collected in the summer of 1994. This will allow interseeding prior to
winter if it its deemed necessary.
Trapper Res~nse:
7.0-1. Reminder respectfully acknowledged. Vegetation data collected for the no-seed area
during the current (1993) field season will be evaluated and if no vegetation
improvement is detected Trapper may opt to interseed the area prior to fall, 1994.
CDMG Comment:
• 7.0-2. In the discussion of the waste accumulation facility the statement is trade "Work will
be completed in early 1992." Is this correct? Please clarify.
