3. In the 1985 amendment, the plan for the northwest corner of the eastern phases (also
defined as the southeast corner of Drennan Road and Academy Boulevard) was to conduct mining in
that area and then partially backiill the mined pit with wash fines. This part of the 1985 amended
• plan has been deleted. The land will not be mined north of the new ditch alignment. All previous
disturbances in this area will be reclaimed so the land can be returned to its original grade.
Therefore, that portion of the northwest corner of the eastern phases which is north of the ditch slope
is included in the permit for reclamation purposes only and will not be mined.
4. The large "island" tract (now included in Phases lE -south and 2E in this amendment)
has been added through acquisition of the property.
5. A parcel of land in the southern portions of Phase 2W has been removed from the permit
as a result of the sale of that land to another party. Development of that land by the new owners for
industrial purposes has been completed. No mining or mining related activity took place on that
land after it was permitted.
General Sequencing
At the end of this ezhibit are a series of computer generated diagrams that show the
anticipated pattern of development of this operation. Each map is keyed to a particular stage in the
operation. At the top of each map is an indication of the approximate time in years until that stage
• of development is reached. The number of years is basically a guess, as this period is market
dependent.
These diagrams provide an overall picture of how each area in the permit will fit into the
total picture and how the phases relate to one another. The relationships between the phases are
more important than the actual time until that phase is initiated or completed. That is, the
relationship between phases should remain approximately as shown, irrespective of whether it takes
30 years or 150 years to complete the operation.' The relationships are a function of design, while
timetables are controlled by market demands and are generally unrelated to design. Referring to
these maps while reviewing the following descriptions helps to visualize these sequences and
relationships.
West of Academy Boulevard
METHOD OF MINING:
Mining on this side of the highway is very Limited. It will only occur in Phases 2W, 3W, and
4 W (see Exhibit C). Mining in Phase 1 W is completed. That phase is under reclamation.

Mining Plan Page D-2
