TIMETABLES: <br />The timetable for completion of each phase on this side of Academy Boulevard is necessarily <br />vague. There is simply no way to predict how long it will take to complete the mining because the <br />market is not consistent from yeaz to year. <br />The sequencing maps located at the end of this exhibit attempt to place some rough time <br />lines on the various phases, but these estimates grow increasingly speculative the further into the <br />future one goes. Although the actual time until any particular phase is completed may vary <br />drastically from the estimates presented in ~ permit, the temporal relationships between each <br />phase should remain essentially as shown on the sequencing maps. <br />NATURE OF DEPOSIT AND UNDERLYING MATERIALS: <br />• <br />The sand is 90 to 100 feet thick and rests, usually, on top of about 10 to 20 feet of coarse <br />gravel. The gravel rests on top of shale. In some places the gravel seems to be missing and is <br />replaced by sand which rests on top of shale. The pattern of this variation has never been <br />determined with accuracy, but is indicated by ground water patterns. Determining the exact pattern <br />of this variation would require a very extensive, intensive, and extremely expensive drilling <br />program. The definition of this pattern would probably be academically interesting, but of little <br />practical value, as mining will not intercept the ground water. <br />Generally, the gravel acts as an aquifer. Where gravel occurs water is found. Where gravel <br />is not found, the water is usually absent or is in small quantity. This is true of both sides of <br />Academy Boulevard.
