(formerly CAMAS Colorado), Lyman Henn, Inc., has
:' prepared a Technical Revision for the mine plan of the Morrison Quarry, Permit M-73-021
__(005). This Technical Revision is being submitted to the Colorado Division of Reclamation
Mining and Safety for approval. This Technical Revision proposes: 1) modifications to the
highwall and bench geometry immediately adjacent to [he existing north-south haul road in the
Central Quarry; and 2) any reclamation changes necessary [o accommodate for the change in
mine plan. These proposed modifications will widen the existing haul road to allow more
efficient mining of the South Quarry. A check for $188.00 to the Division of Reclamation
Mining and Safety is enclosed to cover the processing fee.
&+~~
CHANGE OF HIGHWALL AND BENCH CONFIGURATION
N ~ Q The proposed road widening of the existing north-south haul road along the east side of the
Q r Central Quarry is desired to allow Caterpillar 777 haul trucks atwo-way haul road for future
M N ~D mining operations in the South Quarry. Allowing for two-way traffic will increase efficiency of
~ a O the mining operations and remove the need for turn-outs or one-way traffic, thus increasing mine
N safety. Lyman Henn understands that the 777 trucks require a minimum of approximately 75 ft
~ Q N for safe passing clearance. An approximate 10 ft wide, 5 ft high safety berm would also be
'- constructed on the outside edge of the bench.
~ The existing north-south haul road (bench) is approximately 40 to 60 f[ wide with highwalls
Lt ranging from approximately 30 to 50 ft in height, as shown in Figure 1. The quality of exposed
~ ., -,._. -rock ranges from poor to very good...The proposed change of highwall and bench configuration
> would consist of removing the highwall immediately-east of the haul ~ioad back to flie7imifof the
Q C next bench to the east creating an approximately 85 f[ wide bench and approximately 60 to 90 ft
Z Q
110 16th Street, Suite 900 -Denver, CO 80202-5202 -Tel: 303.534.1 100 -Fax: 303.534.1777 - www.LymanHenn.com
Geotechnical,Tunneling and Construction Services
G:\PROIECTS\20200 Mortison Quarry~Al l S Access RoadUi.l] Reports\Tech revisiov.doc
