Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 16, 2005, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Edna Strip <br />Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining <br />Co.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The revision revises the permit boundary. The area of the permit is reduced by withdrawing some 171.2 acres of unaffected <br />private land about the perimeter of the permitted area. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles Northwest of Oak Creek, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />TSN, R85 W, Portions of Sections 3 I, 32 <br />TSN, R86W, Portions of Section 36 <br />T4N, R86W, Portions of Sections 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25 <br />T4N, R85 W, Portions of Sections 7, 8, 17, I8, 19, 29, 30 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cow Creek, Oak Creek, and <br />Rattiesnake, Colorado. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Routt County Clerk and <br />Recorder, P.O. Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office. For additional information or to <br />provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be <br />submitted within fifteen (15) days of [his letter.
