TECHNICAL REVISION APPLICATION
This Land Swap Technical Revision application is being submitted to revise the Gallegos
Corporation's 110 Limited Impact Permit, Permit No. M-1998-022 for the following items:
Dimensions of the staging area and bench. A bench, approximately 50 feet
wide will be constructed from the staging area in a westerly direction to the
permit boundary. One or more benches will be constructed from west to east
to allow recovery of the skree material. As benches are extended off the initial
bench, the widths will range from 20 feet to 120 feet with 40 to 50 feet being
the preferred width. The range in bench widths occurs to allow switchbacks to
be created and to keep the disturbed area within the permit boundary on the
upper benches. Benches were designed with a highwall slope of 1:1 and 20
feet height. The benches provide a safe means to work the long slopes of skree
material with track excavators and hand harvesting techniques from the
material piles pulled down the slope. These benches will also provide a good
working base to reduce the highwalls to a maximum slope of 2:1 horizontal to
vertical. The benches will be constructed in accordance with the geotechnical
report provided by Grand Junction Lincoln DeVore and as shown on the
attached Mining Plan and Cross Section Exhibits.
The benches may be extended to the east over the existing access road using
bench designs consistent with the above referenced geotechnical report.
A staging area, approximately 120 feet by 120 feet, will created off the
switchback to load the trucks that will transport the palletized rock from the
site.
2. Location of Utility Poles. The location of the power poles for Holy Cross
Electric's overhead power line have been added to the Mining and Reclamation
Plan Exhibits based on measurements taken in the field from the power pole
adjacent to the switchback. Measurements were taken along the power line
from pole to pole using a 300 ft. surveyor's chain.
3. Address change for the Permitting and Inspection Contact. DMG's records
need to be updated for Balaz & Associates, Inc.'s new office address. The
new address is:
Physical:
Balaz & Associates, Inc.
1005 N. 12th Street, #211
Grand Junction, CO 81501
Phone: 970 263-9733
Fax: 970 263-9736
