EXHIBIT E -RECLAMATION PLAN
E.1 General
The reclamation plan in this permit amendment addresses two specific azeas at the
San Luis Mine: (1) the West Pit and (2) the Tailings Disposal Area (TDA). Final
reclamation of the West Pit azea will proceed as described in the TR-18 document.
This section describes the revised reclamation plan for the TDA.
E.2 West Pit Water Management Plan
Active mining at the San Luis mine ended in 1997 and only reclamation and closure
activities have ensued since that time. A major activity on site has been
implementation and operation of the West Pit water management program to control
ground water flows in the vicinity of the backfilled pit. Under the current plan,
ground water wells in the West Pit extract ground water at a rate sufficient to
• maintain the ground water elevation such that water does not flow freely from the pit.
The extracted ground water is processed through a water treatment facility and is then
dischazged to the Rito Seco under a permit from the Colorado Department of Public
Health and Environment (CDPHE).
Under this permit amendment, the mine plan would be modified to apply the West Pit
ground water to beneficial use in supporting irrigation activities at the BMRI ranch.
In this manner, the ground water elevation in the West Pit will be maintained in the
current condition long-term, with continuous transfer of West Pit ground water via a
pipeline to an irrigation reservoir located at the ranch. The imgation reservoir has
been designed to hold the volume of ground water pumped during the period
November until April each yeaz. Based on historic irrigation practices, the imgation
reservoir will typically be drained by July and additional water sources at the ranch
will be used to satisfy the irrigation demand.

Battle Mountain Resources, Inc.
