<br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notlce, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33,
<br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 15, 1999, an appllcaton
<br />to revise coal mining operations at the Roadside Portals was considered complete for the purposes of
<br />filing. The revision was submitted by Powderhorn Coal Company. All review and comment periods as
<br />provided in the Act and the Regulations initlate from this date of tiling.
<br />This reviston describes a revised water handling and detention plan for the Roadside North Portal mine,
<br />to prevent future'I'SS exceedances at Dischazge Point 004. The plan was submitted th response to NOV
<br />CV-99-007 Abatement Step #2, and is to be implemented by October 1, 1999.
<br />The underground coal mining operatlon is on land located approximately 5 tulles north of Palisade. 'the
<br />permit area is further described as follows:
<br />Portions of Sectlons 20, 21, 22, 23, 26,2 7, 28, 29, 34, and 35, T10S, R98W, 6th PM: Portions of
<br />Sections 6. 7, and 18, T11S, 1297W, 6th PM; Portions of Sectlons 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, and 14, T11S. R98W.
<br />6th PM; Portions of Sectlon 1, T1S, R2E, Ute PM; all in Mesa County.
<br />The above-mentloned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute 9uadrangle map of Cameo
<br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County
<br />Courthouse, Box 20.000, Grand Junctlon, CO 81501, and at the Division office. For addttlonal
<br />information or to provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215.
