BeNe Mountain Gold Company "Sao Luis Mine' - Geochemical'I'aung Program • FWAL REPoRT
TEST DESCRIPTION
Sequential Batch Testing
Sequential batch tests were performed by conducting a series of sequential contacts between site
ground water and each of the crushed waste rock samples. Each batch contact was conducted
by combining measured quantities of ground water and solids in one-gallon plastic screw cap
jars. Liquids and solids recovered after each contact were subsequently contacted with fresh
solids and liquid, respectively. Figures 1-6 provide detailed schematics showing the sequencing
and material quantities employed during each test. Below is a summary of test conditions
utilized during each batch contact:
-24 hour contact time.
-continuous mixing during contact time was achieved using bottle roll apparatus.
-both initial liquid and then solid/liquid mixtures were thoroughly purged with nitrogen
at beginning of each contact to facilitate removal of dissolved oxygen.
-Eh and dissolved oxygen were measured immediately after opening test container at
completion of each contact time period.
-solid/liquid separations were accomplished utilizing a pressurized filter press.
Samples of fresh site ground water were collected and analyzed for dissolved oxygen and Eh
immediately after purging the ground water with nitrogen and just prior to combining with
solids. This was done prior to each of the contact steps Al, A2, and A3 for all Sequential batch
tests. The results of this testing are presented in the following table.
Diss.
