GEOTECHNICAL STUDY REQUIREMENT
•
Mining in the area has occurred since the early 1900's. Historically, no failures
have been known to occur. Recent reclamation has also reduced the slope of
the existing highwall on the south side of the quarry. Future mining operations
will not impact the highwatl to the south.
With respect to new pit walls, there is no sign cant geological formations that will
lead to any type of slope failure. Mining will be conducted utilizing safe Best
Management Practices (BMP}and final reclamation calls for the filling in of the pit
to the northwest final slopes in the area will be configured to 1:1 or less to
maintain stability of the area. Mining walls on the west side of the deposit will be
reduced to 1:1 (or lass) slope.
~~"-A~AY~~ 2p~1
,};,;~ 3 0
,,; r' ~~dan,
~~~'~p~i J:S3.f
Cv,hin9 ac...
~J
