<br />ENERQY FUELS MINING COMPANY <br />RATON CREEK MINE <br />PROPOSED PUBLIC NOTICE <br />BOND RELEASE <br />The Energy Fuels Mining Company (EPMC), is filing an application for bond relcue with the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). EFMC is the owner and operator of the <br />nton Creek Mine located approximately three miles south of Trinidad, Colorado on the east <br />side of and adjacent to Interstate Highway 25 (1-25) near the Town of Starkville. Box 874 <br />'Trinidad, Colorado 81082 <br />Phone: (719) 846-7081 <br />The bond release appliption covers only an area identified as the Burlington Northern (BN) <br />Loadout located within the City of 'Trinidad on the north side of the Purgatory River and south <br />of I-25. <br />EFMC conducted coal storage and loading opentions at the BN Loadout during a period from at ; • ~ i <br />1987 through 1991 under a permit (Permit No. C•82-0ii) issued on August 17, 1982 by the ~ <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division (CMLRD) as predecessor to the DMG. Under <br />applinble provisions of this permit, EFMC agreed to reclaim the site to a condition and .,,, <br />configuration suitable for industrial uses following cessa[ion of mining or at such time u the p; ~~ <br />area was no longer required for lodout operations. Reclamation of the site was completed <br />consistent with this commitment and appliable regulatory requirements in early-1992. The <br />reclamation work involved removal of the existing storage hopper, transfer conveyor, and <br />associate auxiliary equipment and structures and regrading of the site resulting in reclamation <br />of the entire 3.0 aue disturbance area. Following completion of reclamation, EFMC's lease was 3 , ~- ~' ` ' <br />terminated and ownership of the property tramferred from Burlington Northern Railroad to <br />the City of'1'rinidad. <br />The reclaimed area lies within the Burlington Northern Loadout boundary which encompasses <br />all or portions of the following areas: <br />T32S, R63W, 6th.
