In this analysis, 100 feet of the AVF is
considered as a grass filter. The grasses are equated to a fescue in the SEDCAD+ selection
tables, with a stem to stem spacing of 2 inches. The height of grass was selected as 7 inches,
Manning's n = 0.014, infiltration = 0.03. and stiffness factor of 20. The size of the
representative filter is 100 long, 100 feet wide, at a slope of 3%.
3.10 Comparisons of Water Quality '
SEDCAD+ demonstration results are presented in Table 3.10-1.
Table 3.10-1 Peak Sediment Concentrations, Alluvial Valley Floor
Parameter I Pre-Mining Reclaimed
Peak Sediment 13' 19' 17'
Concentration
(SCp) (mg/I) ~
SEDCAD+ Demonstration File Name: C:\SEDCAD3\CR\AVF4F, 10-07-1996, 12:22:41,
Appendix B
SEDCAD+ Demonstration File Name: C:\SEDCAD3\CR\AVF4F2,10-07-1996,12:24;21,
Appendix B2
SEDCAD+ Demonstration File Name: C:SEDCAD3\CR\AFVR2F, 09-09-1996,
10:47:00, Appendix C
Page 12 of 3~3, 7 Oct 96
