there other drill holes that have not been mined through that aze not listed in this table? If
so, please provide details for all open drill holes.
16. Map 2.04.6-1A shows hundreds of exploration drill hole sites, and it is not at all cleaz
which holes were drilled under permit C-81-008, as opposed to exploration permits.
Please revise this map to indicate which holes were approved and drilled under the permit
for the New Horizon Mine, and either differentiate the information on exploration permit
drill holes, or provide that information on a sepazate map.
17. Please provide volume information for each topsoil stockpile on site, so that an accurate
cost estimate for topsoil replacement can be generated. The "old" 1996 PAP shows four
topsoil stockpiles totaling 113,600 cubic yards, and there does not appear to be any
additional information elsewhere in the permit.
18. Please provide a typical cross section for the open mining pit -including how many spoil
piles are typically ungraded behind the active pit.
19. Map 2.05.3(3)-2 shows that the tum slot will be left in place for the life of operation. Is
this pit still open? If so, please provide details of the current length, width, and depth of
the pit, and where backfilling material for this pit is currently located. Please also update
the permit application to reflect current conditions.
20. The permit text (page 2.05.3-1) states that each mining panel will approach 2,400 feet
long. Map 2.05.3(3)-1 shows pits as long as 2,900 feet. Please revise the text to
coincide with the maps, or clarify the map to show actual pit length.
21. The permit text also states (page 2.05.3-1) that panel width will vary from 120' to 260'
wide. For cost estimating purposes, a maximum open pit width needs to be provided.
Please verify the maximum pit width, and revise the permit text if necessary.
22. The currently approved permit application includes a reclamation cost estimate generated
by the Division. One of the reclamation tasks is to "haul fill from borrow area to pits".
Where is the borrow area for the pits, and will borrow material be necessary for
reclamation in the event that mining would cease during this permit term?
23. The permit text (page 2.05.3-4) mentions the need for telephone and power lines to be
replaced after mining and reclamation. Please provide additional detail on length and
location of replacement utility lines.
24. The text (page 2.05.3(3)-31 includes a brief description of structures on site, but does not
include the height of any of the listed buildings. Please provide a length, width, and
height dimension for each building, as well as material type and dimensions of
foundations, footers, or base slabs of buildings.
25. Maps of the permit show a pallet storage in the facilities area. Please provide details on
this and any other storage areas (approximate volume and type of materials stored).
New Horizon Mine -8- November 23, 2005
