SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the CDMG will be provided with map(s) illus-
trating the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate
locations for stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year. The map(s) 5.0 are
included in this section.
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appendix W updating
the report and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockpiles.
Since 1990, Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (cyds) for existing stockpiles. Table
5-1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, coordinates (based on the
approximate center of the pile), acres, construction date and volume; which is updated annually.
Al the end of 1996 there were 80 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 186.6 acres and storing
approximately 3,993,409 cubic yards of salvaged materials.
During 1996, Trapper constructed six new stockpiles and added topsoil to six existing piles. Addition-
ally, portions of five existing piles were removed and one pile was eliminated via topsoil replacement.
The proposed approximate locations (as shown on Topsoil Stockpile Map(s) 5.0) for topsoil stockpiling
in 1997 may exceed the actual number that will be constructed. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the
number of piles constructed are dependent upon the field conditions that are encountered each
reclamation season. Additionally, particular piles may be depleted from or added to in order to maintain
a cost effective salvage or replacement program during a particular year.
BON 19B
rDMGl9BREPTS7
