.. ~ iii iiiiiiiiuiiiiii
,,,~..„ TRAPPER MINING INC.
February 11, 1998
Mr. Joseph J. Dudash RECEIVED
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology FEB 13 1998
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 Division of Minerals 8 Geology
Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit No. C-81-010
1996 Annual Hydrology Report 2°" Response, Technical Revision TR-76
Dear Mr. Dudash:
This letter responds to the sewnd round of TR-76 comments outlined in your letter dated
December 9, 1997. Enclosed please find several annual report pages (Section 5.0 page;
page 3 of Table 5-1) and permit document pages (4-237 to 4-237e) that are revised with
this response to Division comments.
Trapper offers the following responses to Division comments:
Response to Comments 1 through 15, 17 through 22, 25, 26, and 28 through 34
No Trapper response is necessary.
Response to Comment 16
A paragraph was added, beginning at the bottom of page 4-237 and continuing onto page
4-237a, that includes a discussion of the potential impact of Trapper Mine surface runoff
to the Yampa River. While the only actual change with this response was the added
paragraph on enclosed pages 4-237 and 4-237a, enclosed pages 4-2376 through 4-237e
were impacted by the domino effect of the added paragraph and were thus revised.
Response to Comment 23
Beginning with the 1997 annual report submittal, an identification number will be added
to each shrub clump and a shrub clump symbol will be added to the map legend (Annual
Reclamation Report Map).
Response to Comment 24
The heavy dashed lines represent the currently existing wntour ditches. The lightly
dashed lines show locations of former contour ditches that have been reclaimed. Because
some of the reclaimed contour ditch locations still show up on aerial photographs, the
aerial photogrammetry company that Trapper wntracted to produce topography maps
illustrated the reclaimed ditches.
P.0.
