TRAPPER MINING INC.
SAND AND GRAVEL SITE
•
Exhibit E Contd. - Page 2
2.0 Reclamation Plan
In general, all reclamation activities will be in conformance with Rule 6
of 2CCR 407-1 and this permit where applicable.
It is anticipated that reclamation operations will occur in two primary
phases. The first phase won't occur until mining operations are complete
in proposed mining areas 1, 2, and 3. At such time, mining areas 1, 2,
and 3 will be regraded to approximate the final configuration shown on
Exhibit F. However, no other major reclamation activity is contemplated
until mining and regrading are completed in mining areas 4, 5, and 6,
Exhibit C. `^ ~~
The second phase of the reclamation operation will consist of regrading `y~/
mining areas 4, 5, and 6. In addition, all regraded areas occurring above
the high water level of the proposed 57-acre permanent pond will receive
between 16 and 19 inches of topsoil. Seeding replaced topsoil will follow
in the next immediate fall with an appropriate mix of perennial plant spe-
cies. Topographic shaping of returned overburden, old tires, and other
suitable materials, could be used in the proposed permanent pond to
enhance fish habitat.
• Table E-2 is a list of the possible reclamation steps and example of the
schedule of activities one might expect at the proposed operation.
2.1 Grading
Grading of the mined or disturbed areas within the proposed permit bound-
ary will result in a postmine configuration similar to what is shown on
Exhibit F. Stockpiled overburden not required for elimination of a1L
highwalls will be returned to the mined-out pit such that placement will
enhance warm water fishing habitat. Use of excess overburden will be in
conformance with Colorado Division of Wildlife recommendations for warm
water fishery habitats, Exhibit H.
In order to prevent instability, final graded slopes will not exceed
lv:3h.
Since the overburden is the result of stream laid deposits, toxicity prob-
lems are not anticipated. Therefore, selective handling or placement
won't be necessary. However, any other nonoverburden materials of a
toxic, hazardous nature, or refuse resulting from the mining and process-
ing activities wilt be removed from the site and disposed in an approved
landfill, or by other appropriate means.
Excessive erosion of the disturbed areas or erosional impacts off-site,
onto adjacent Lands should not occur. The proposed area of mining activ-
Contd.
